Fortune Magazine's Peter Lewis calls Total Information Awareness "Worst of 2002"   *   Dec 27, 2002

Fortune.com - Peter Lewis - Worst of 2002: With Any Luck, It Won't Work: the intended national surveillance system to "data mine" every public and private electronic record it can find is one of the worst ideas in American history, not just 2002! That the head of the task force was convicted of lying to Congress, and that Attorney General Ashcroft admits it would be used on citizens who aren't even remotely suspected of anything criminal, just make it all the more frightening to contemplate.
