I first discovered Movable Type and Coranto as tools that would make it easier to put current news and items on existing web sites which are themselves formatted and organized in more traditional fashion. (Can we call something traditional that has a history of less than ten years???)
But as I've explored the good, the bad and the ugly of weblogs on the Net, the potential of weblogs nagged at me. And when Movable Type came out with their easy-to-use but not-too-easy-for-non-geeks-to-understand TrackBack system, I nevertheless saw that potential suddenly closer to actualization.
Here was something different from email, discussion boards, newsletters, stand-alone websites. Here was a way to develop a network of interrelated websites -- more like sustained conversations at a conference than anything else I can think of.
And now Mena of Movable Type has posted, on the newly-established weblog for the company behind Movable Type, some musings in a similar vein. So of course I have to ping it!
